Collaborative Editing

Teaching isn’t just about delivering content—it’s about creating space for ideas to grow. That’s why livetea.ch includes collaborative editing on slides, giving students the power to contribute directly and work together in real time. Let’s walk through how it works and how you can use it to encourage interaction in your lessons.

Step 1: Enable Collaborative Editing

When you want to open up a slide for student input, simply click the Collaborative Editing button in the status bar. This instantly turns the slide into a shared space where everyone in the lesson can:

  1. Draw
  2. Write
  3. Add text or shapes

Everything appears on your screen in real time, with no need for file sharing or extra apps. It is perfect for brainstorming, group problem-solving, or any activity where you want to gather multiple perspectives quickly and clearly.

Step 2: Watch Edits in Real Time

As participants contribute, you’ll see their input appear immediately. Every change is automatically saved, so there’s no risk of losing anyone’s ideas. This live editing experience feels like a shared whiteboard, but built directly into your lesson materials.

Step 3: Lock Edits to Finalise

When the activity is over, click the Collaborative Editing button again to disable the feature. This locks all contributions in place, turning the slide into a static version of everything the group has added—a snapshot of the session’s collaboration. You can use this finalised slide to:

  1. Review contributions
  2. Reflect on outcomes
  3. Continue the discussion in later lessons

Coming Soon

We’re currently developing exciting updates to enhance this feature even further, including:

  1. A dedicated collaborative whiteboard slide, offering screenshare-style interaction but with built-in livetea.ch tools
  2. The option to make specific sections of a slide editable, allowing just part of the slide to act as a whiteboard
  3. An expansive, freeform whiteboard space designed for open-ended collaboration and idea mapping

These updates will give you even more flexibility and creative options during lessons, so stay tuned!
